Floyd Nathan Poteet, age 87, of Maryville, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Asbury Place of Maryville. Floyd was retired from TVA as a heavy equipment operator and was a charter member of Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church where he loved to sing in the choir. He loved spending time with his family camping. Preceded in death by Parents, Luish and Vernie Cole Poteet; Brothers, Luther, William, Raymond, Melvin, Cledus, and Baby Brother, Bert; Sisters, Josie Presswood, Odessa Yates, Cora Bell Pritchard, and Mary Ruth Lewis; Son-in-law, Dan Rogers; Survived by his devoted Wife of 61 ½ years, Faye Emma Morgan Poteet. Son, David Loren Poteet; Daughter and Son-in-law, Donna and Alf Dotson; Daughter, Debbie Rogers; Grandchildren, Courteney and Lauren Poteet, Brittany Lynn Crothers, and Alyson Shamblin, Morgan and Kirby Graves; Step-Grandchildren, Josh and Tim Brown, Bill Dotson, Hollie Sarah, and Hiedi Hart; Great Grandchildren, Hunter Crothers; Step-Great Grandchildren, Lily, Erika, and Destiny Dotson, Mason and Marissa Hart; Special family and friends, Ronald and Vernell Williamson, Tip and Carol Whitehead; Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2014 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Butch Cooper officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Sunrise Cemetery in Englewood, TN.
