Faye E. Crick

Faye Elizabeth Wilson Crick, 90, beloved wife, mother and sister, passed away in the Shannondale Retirement Center in Maryville, TN on January 15, 2023. She lived a full and blessed life with her husband of 70 years, retired auditor with the U.S. Air Force, Ed Crick, and raised two boys together, Steven Wesley Crick and Bryan Dale Crick.

Faye was born and raised in Mississippi and met Ed while he was working for Faye’s father on a cotton plantation. They immediately formed a bond that would last a lifetime.

Throughout their lives, the family lived in Oklahoma, Texas, California and Maryland. When Steven and Bryan were in their early teens, Faye completed her degree in Elementary Education at the University of Redlands in California. Faye taught in elementary schools in California and Maryland for over 21 years. Her commitment to her students contributed to their early childhood literacy.

Retiring in 1992, Faye and Ed started a new life in the Royal Oaks community (Maryville, TN) where Faye enjoyed playing bridge and golf. Both Ed and Faye were active in the community as volunteers. Since 2014, they lived in the Shannondale Retirement Center. Faye was a member of Monte Vista Baptist Church and regularly attended chapel service at Shannondale.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Alice Lee and Ira Tillman Wilson, son Bryan Dale Crick and sister Geniva Hobza.

She is survived by her husband Ed Doyle Crick; son, Steven Wesley Crick and daughter-in-law, Rhonda, Fletcher, NC; sister Joann Reed, Inverness, MS and step-grandchildren, Austin Ryder and Amanda Ryder. Faye was a devoted mother and wife, with a strong Christian faith.

The family will receive friends on from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Smith Trinity Chapel.  Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM conducted by Shannondale Chaplain, Eric Bronkala.  Family and friends will assemble for interment at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Grandview Cemetery Pavilion.
