Farrah I Wear

Mrs. Farrah Inez Reed Wear, age 95 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at her home. Mrs. Wear was born on April 21, 1927 in Strawberry Plains to Rev. Joseph Boyd Reed and Hattie Florence Kerr Reed.  In her early life, she was employed by Standard Knitting Mills, and later she became a homemaker and sold Avon in Blount County. She was a member of Grandview Baptist Church for over 65 years, where her late husband served as deacon for over 50 years.  Mrs. Wear was an avid bowler with a local women’s league where she won the state title in her age bracket while in her 70s. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, volunteering at her children’s schools, taking care of her grandchildren, fishing with her family, camping and going to the beach with her son’s family, listening to the Gaithers, loving her dog, and watching her beloved Tennessee Volunteers and Atlanta Braves. Mrs. Wear’s love for animals was only surpassed by her love for her family, especially her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Charles Blake Wear. Survivors include her daughter Patricia Rhea Webb, her son Charles David Wear (Sherri), her granddaughter Allison Rhea Bennett, her grandson Jackson Blake Wear, her great-grandchildren Jordan Hill, Joshua Bennett, and Madison Bennett, several nieces and nephew, including her dear niece Linda Hentsch of Ohio who has helped tremendously with her care during her last months, three sisters-in-law, and her beloved chihuahua Bindi. Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 PM on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral Service to follow at 6:00 PM with Rev. Chris Pass officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 1:00 PM for Interment at 1:00 PM on Sunday July 17, 2022 at Grandview Cemetery.
