Everett (EJ) Coffee, age 91, of Bean Station, TN, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014 at his family home. EJ wrote his obituary in his own words: "I am a veteran of WWII and I served with the 32nd Division in the Pacific. I later joined the Air Force where I served out the remainder of my 29 years of service to this wonderful country. I was extremely proud to serve my country and I would do it again. I was not saved until I returned from WWII. I was very thankful that the Lord let me live to return home to my sweet wife Audrey after the war. After I was saved at the age of 24, I dedicated my life and heart to God when I joined the old Calvue Baptist Church. Later, Audrey and I moved to Blount County and we joined Morning Star Baptist Church in Maryville, TN. I have been a member of Morning Star for over 40 years. I missed the church when I returned to Bean Station, TN, after Audrey passed away. I enjoyed coming back to my hometown where I was born May 4, 1923. I spend a lot of time roaming the hills of Granger County with my faithful dog Shadow. My father William Ira Coffey and my mother Jane (Mallicote) Coffey passed away many years ago. I am preceded in death by all of my brothers and sisters. My wife Audrey (Hodge) Coffee went to be with the Lord January 19, 2004, after a wonderful love-filled marriage of 62 years. I am longing for the day when I join her in Heaven as we walk through the beautiful Pearly Gates with Jesus." Survived by good friend, Patsy Hess.
