Evelyne Campbell Presley

Evelyne Campbell Presley, age 90, of Maryville, went to be with her Savior on Sunday, June 8, 2014, with her loving family by her side. She was born January 4, 1924, at Wallins Creek, Kentucky, to Pleasant Wade Campbell and Bess Sizemore Campbell. After moving to Tennessee with her family, she graduated from Maryville High School in 1941, and later attended Knoxville Business College. She married Richard Robert Presley on October 18, 1943, in San Obispo, California. During her husband's years of military service, Mrs. Presley returned to Tennessee where she worked for ALCOA and Chandler Printing Company before starting a bookkeeping service in 1978. She enjoyed and took pride in her work, serving the public until her retirement in 1998. Her professional affiliations included member and past president of the Business and Professional Women's Foundation. She also served the community by volunteering with CONTACT and Blount Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. As an active member of the Alcoa-Maryville Church of God for 74 years, she served in many capacities, including Sunday school teacher, church secretary, youth worker, and choir member. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters Launa Campbell and Joyce Campbell Bogart, and step-father Hobart Hodges. Survivors include son Richard Don Campbell Presley and daughter-in-law Magdalena "Leni" Presley and daughter Libby Myers, all of Maryville. Grandchildren, Michelle Presley and Eva (Grant) Rimback of Maryville, Chris (Tawnya) Myers of Enid, Oklahoma, and Jennifer (James) Guinn of Norman, Oklahoma. Great-grandchildren, Juletta (Nick) Hartford, Jeffrey Rimback, Shelby Rimback, Breanna, Alyson, and Jace Myers, Hannah, Kaley, and Jessica Guinn, and Carson Myers Gray. Great-great-grandchild, Skyler Hartford. Sisters and brothers-in-law, Juanita (Floyd) Meiller and Betty (Ed) Fayette. Several beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Life-long friends Ruth Brewer and Jean Daniels. Special thanks to Blount Memorial Hospice team members Beverly, Kari, Joy, Paul, Barbara, Karen, Barb, Pat, Tracie, Charles, Tara, and Nancy for their exceptional kindness and loving care of our mother. The family will receive friends 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, at Smith Trinity Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Hugh McGarity officiating. Interment immediately following at Grandview Cemetery.
