Evelyn Hunt Harmon Cook age 89 of Alcoa went to be with Jesus on Saturday, February 14, 2009. She was an educator who served in various school systems for 61 years, and was a member of Alcoa First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Franklin Moore and Roger Lawson Cook; parents, Junius Bible and Mable Douglas White Harmon; Sisters, Madge D. Harmon, Margarette W. Harmon, Marjorie Hope "Jo" Harmon Greene; Brothers, Junius Bible "J.B." Harmon Jr., Guy Wallace Harmon, Kenneth N. Harmon; Sisters-in-law, Janet Vann Cook, Marie Bardon Harmon, and Betty Lawson Harmon; Brother-in-law, Enoch Edward Cook; Survivors include; brother, Carl Bible Harmon of Barboursville, W. Va.; daughters, Andrea Cook Masvidal of Lenoir City, Jane Cook Simpson of Bartlett, and Mary Moore Gross and her husband Francis of Alcoa. Grandchildren; Douglas Vann Masvidal of Sacramento, CA, Marianne Masvidal Mlekodaj and her husband Michael of Lenoir City, Anthony Warren Hicks of Houston, TX, Nicholas Edward Simpson and his wife, Jenny of Memphis, Rachel Simpson Halford and her husband, Todd of Memphis, John Darren Gross, M.D. of Charleston, SC, and Randall Sanford Gross of Swenksville, PA; Brother-in-law, Kenneth Wesley Greene of Decatur, TN; Great-grandchildren, Elliott Maxwell Mlekodaj of Lenoir City, TN, Hunter Todd Halford, Camden Jane Simpson, and Colton Enoch Simpson of Bartlett, TN; Nieces, Nora Harmon Stevens of Theodore, AL, Brenda Green Price of Decatur, TN, Judith Diane Harmon Little of Theodore, AL, Jo Ann Harmon Loewen of Theodore, AL, Carla Harmon Prater of South Point, OH, Theresa Harmon Wolterman of Brighton, MI; Nephews, Roger Dale Harmon of Theodore, AL, Robert Wesley Greene of Decatur, TN, Steven Douglas Harmon of Naperville, IL, James Ray Greene of Decatur, TN, Lawrence William Harmon of Crown Point, NY; Numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews also survive; Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2009 in the Smith West Chapel with Rev. Joe Green officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 4:00 p.m. at Grandview Cemetery for the interment.
