Eunice Bridges Heatherly

December 30, 1921 — April 14, 2010

Eunice Bridges Heatherly of Knoxville, left this great world she loved and her family on April 14, 2010. Eunice was born in the Mt. Olive Community of Union County and moved out when TVA bought land for Norris Dam. She was a member of Greenback Presbyterian Church. Eunice was a teacher and school counselor for 43+ years. She taught six grade at Bell Morris in Knoxville for 12 years, and was a school counselor in middle and high school, ending her career at Halls. She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. One of her great joys was running into former students to hear of their adventures and successes. Preceded in death by: Mother, Delia Wilson Sharp Bridges; Father, Isaac Bridges; Grandson, Jason Oliver Heatherly; Brothers, David, Dewey, Narvel, Otis, Albert, Curtis, Louis Bridges and Miller Sharp; Sisters, Mary Ann Nelson, Hazel Bledsoe, Sarah Jane Albright, Fanny Brock, Zola Hill, Myrcle Dunsmore, Mossie Dunsmore, and Mae Dunsmore. Survivors include: Husband, Oliver C. Heatherly; Daughter, Sherley Heatherly Shuler; Sons & Daughters-in-law, Carlos Oliver Heatherly Jr. & wife Martha and Leonard Lewis Heatherly & wife Janie; Grandchildren, Angela Ferrenta, Brenda Hamilton, David Shuler, Lisa Held, Lennis Matthews, Linette Bowser, Michael Wes Heatherly, Eric Benton Heatherly, Rhonda Heatherly Brown & their mother, Marsha Peterson; Great-Grandchildren, Amanda & Alex Johnson, Eddie Hamilton, Grace, Joseph, Anna & Faith Held, Jessie Mathews, Samantha & Benjamin Bowser, Jordan, Tabatha, Brittany & Andrew Heatherly, Kenneth & Jason Brown, and Alisha Heatherly Bacon; Great-Great-Grandchildren, Aaliyah Heatherly, Mylie Bacon, & Jason Lindsey; Sister, Thelma Whited; a passel of greatly loved nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Bishop Leonard Heatherly and Rev. Clayton Dunsmore officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Smith Trinity Chapel.
