Ernest Koella Trotter, age 13, of Knoxville Tennessee passed away unexpectedly at Children's Hospital on Wednesday evening, March 29, 2017. Ernest was the beloved son of Stevens Koella and John Trotter; brother of John Charles Trotter, Jr.; grandson of Brenda Wood, Harriet Tumlin and Ken Jobson, Ernie and Libby Koella; Aunts and Uncles: Brooks and Craig Heiser, Atlanta GA, Owen and Marie Jobson, San Jose, CA, Lisa Jobson, Cara and Marianna Jobson, Berkeley, CA, John Thaddeus Trotter, Maryville, TN, Kim Wood, Knoxville, TN; Cousins: Virginia and Gibby Heiser, Atlanta, GA, Susan Dickey, Leo and Caroline Beale, Michael McClamroch, Knoxville, TN, Michael Koella, Rockford, TN, Elliot, Noah, Nicholas, and Elizabeth Jobson, San Jose, CA, Sandy and Lucy Jobson, Berkeley, CA, Ty and Ashley, Maddie and Chip Tumlin, Jamie and Ryan, Allie, Rhodes and Beck Marietta, GA, Sig and Audrey Tumlin, Ellen Jobson, Atlanta, GA Nancy and Joe Prebul, Chattanooga, TN Alex and Matt Friedman, Caroline and Harry Heyer, NYC, Mike and Terri Brull, Middleton, MD, Rachel and Jeff Tuer, Urbana, MD, Beth and Jared Berkowitz of Urbana, MD, and Sarah and Ray Albert, Potomac, MD; Great uncles and aunts: Steve and Jean Alice Tumlin, Vernon and Sally Jobson, Marietta, GA, Nan and Neil Armingeon, Jacksonville, FL, Lisa Koella Franks of Sanibel, Fl., and Mary and Bob Brull, Hagerstown, MD. Preceded in death by his grandfathers, Charles Earl Trotter, Jr. and Pat Wood; uncle, Ernest "Chip" Koella IV. He belongs to Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian Church, was a seventh grade student at Webb School of Knoxville, a member of Boy Scout Troop 757, Webb Middle school wrestling team. Always ready to flex his dimple in a smile, he used his extreme wit to delight those around him. An avid reader, honor student and all American boy, Ernest was an expert in fireworks, shooting, climbing trees, biking the neighborhood and trying impossible basketball shots. He also had a passion for anything his big brother did. He'll be sadly missed by his family, friends and teachers and all those that had the good fortune to know and love him. Family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 PM, Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian Church, Barron Hall, 3700 Keowee Ave. SW, Knoxville, TN 37919. Funeral service will be in the sanctuary at 2:30 PM with Rev. Rachel Hamburger officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
