Ernest Arthur Boruff went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday morning while at home surrounded by his family, whom he loved dearly. He will be remembered for his love for his family, his love of sharing vegetables from his garden, his sense of humor and love for life. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his infant son, David Allen; parents, Arthur and Allie Boruff; brothers, Eskie, Cellius, Willie, Broady, Kenneth, and Tyson; sisters, Mossie Neely, Ruby Monroe, and Maggie Boruff. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Althea Grubb Boruff; children, Ron Boruff (Debbie), Peggy Hutsell (Dan), Jim Boruff (Sandy); brother, Carl Boruff (Reba); grandchildren, Tammy Boruff, Mandy Welch, Wayne Boruff (Lanie), Kay Brewer (Chad), April McKinney (Mark), Nikki Parton, Chris Boruff (Angie) and Jamie Lanagan, his favorite nurse. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; many beloved nieces and nephews including special nephew, Darrell Boruff (Linda). Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2012 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Chris Boruff officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Cades Cove Memorial Cemetery for the interment with Rev. Mike Parker officiating.
