Emma Jean Mccarter

Emma Jean McSpadden McCarter age 88, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2008 at Asbury Place of Maryville. She was a member of Broadway Baptist Church for 56 years and retired from Proffitt's Department Store in 1982. Preceded in death by: Husband, Major C. McCarter; Grandson, Mark Miller; Parents, W.H. & Mollie McSpadden; Sisters, Gladys Ferguson, Ruth Best, Maude McSpadden, Merle Burris, Elizabeth Harrell, Wilma Smith; Brothers, Henry McSpadden and Boyce McSpadden. Survivors include: Children & Spouses, Martha & Ralph Miller, Diane & Bob McFarland, Bill & Rita McCarter, and Alan & Debbie McCarter; Grandchildren, Emily & Greg Capps, Randy & Leah Miller, Eric & Susan Miller, David & Beth McFarland, Doug & Jennifer McFarland, Andrea McCarter, Jim McCarter, Kendall McCarter, Jacob McCarter, and Micah McCarter; Great-Grandchildren, Mary Alison, Molly & Emma Capps, Morgan, Katie, Loran & Austin Miller, Ali, Matthew, Scott, Emma & Jack McFarland, and Sydney McCarter; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 7:30 PM, Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Smith West Chapel with Rev. David Webster officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Grandview Cemetery. The eight Grandsons will be pallbearers. Memorial donations may be made to: Broadway Baptist Church, 2329 E.
