Edward Ray Durham

Edward Ray Durham passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019. He was a manager with Kmart for 44 years before retiring. He traveled as the company grew to Baltimore, Roanoke, Horseheads, NY, Nagatuck, CT, Winston Salem, NC, Morristown, TN, Houston, TX, and eventually ending up in Maryville, TN. He loved his adoptive home of Maryville and enjoyed playing tour guide and “heading up to the mountains” when company came to town. He was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who was always showing off pictures of his babies. Preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Eckert; parents, Bud and Caroline Durham; adoptive parents, Roxie and Rollie Rhodes. He is survived by his sons, Gregory (Tina) Durham, Phillip (Robin) Durham; daughter, Roxanne (Terry) Harmon; 3 grandchildren, Scott (Julie) Durham, Jodi (Taylor) Hackbarth, William Harmon; 6 great-grandchildren, Jaymison, Rocky, Ruby Jo, Riverlyn Hackbarth, Luke and Owen Durham. Mr. Durham requested that there be no long obituary – too late Dad. He also requested that there be no flowers. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to your favorite charity. Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 PM Friday, March 29, 2019 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 6:00 PM with Chris Larue officiating.
