Edward Davis of Maryville, TN went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 30, 2024. Born in Asheville, NC, Ed and his family moved to Miami, Florida when he was a teenager and lived there for over 50 years. Ed was a 1965 graduate of Miami Norland Senior High School where he excelled at playing pranks and football. It was during his senior year that he met his future wife, Vicky Wood, and they were married 58 years. Upon graduating high school, Ed enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served with distinction and was honorably discharged. He remained a proud Marine until his last breath. In 1968, Ed joined the Metro Dade Police Department where he made many lifelong friends and received several commendations. He also enrolled and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from St. Thomas University in Florida.

Ed had a love for life and for the Miami Hurricanes football team. He also enjoyed many years coaching elementary school football, substitute teaching, deep sea fishing, camping, playing Santa Claus at annual Christmas parties, hunting, owning a seafood restaurant, and taking his daughters to WWE wrestling matches where he was often mistaken for George “the Animal” Steele. He had a passion for politics, was a lifelong Republican and proud Trump supporter. His greatest passion in life was for his wife and two daughters, Lisa and Becky, who made him proud everyday.

After retiring, Ed and Vicky moved to Maryville, TN where they became active members of their community and Niles Ferry Baptist Church. Ed was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Alva Davis; and his brothers Bill, Donnie and Doug. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Vicky; daughter, Becky, of Maryville; daughter, Lisa and her husband Paul, of Wellington, Fl; his sister Carolyn Beach of Easley, SC and several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and good friends.
