Edna Sentell Talbott; age 90, of Maryville, died Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Middlesettlements United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, William Gordon Talbott; sister, Izola Smith; brothers, J. Fred Sentell, Alfred Sentell, Bruce P. Sentell, C.M. Sentell; and grandson, Hugh Wallace Lambert. Edna Earle Sentell was born into the loving family of Claude and Ella Mae Sentell on April 19th, 1919. She married William Gordon Talbott in 1938. Mrs. Talbott was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who provided a shelter of love for her family throughout the years. Along with her husband, she welcomed many people into her home for a visit, a meal, or a place to spend the night. She took seriously the task of helping her daughter rear four young children. Cooking, sewing, and homemaking were her specialties. She spent many summers canning and freezing food for her family. Her contribution to our family will never be forgotten. May we practice her legacy of love and devotion toward our own families. She is survived by her daughter, Norma T. Lambert; sons and daughters-in-law, Lynn and Linda Talbott, James and Pam Talbott, all of Maryville; sister, Lucile Milligan of Boise, Idaho; and brother, Samuel Ennis Sentell of Maryville; beloved friend, Mary Blanche Coker Brown of Maryville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive. Special thanks to Dr. Mahdi Budayr, the 5th floor north nurses and palliative care staff at Blount Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Grandview Cemetery with Rev. Joe Black and Rev. Rex Rogers officiating.
