Edna Joyce Russell

Edna Joyce Payne Russell, age 80, of Maryville, passed away suddenly Saturday, January 11, 2014 at UT Hospital. She was an active and faithful member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, where she served as pianist for more than 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Russell; parents, Leonard and Bertha Boring Payne; brothers, Leonard Payne, Jr., Don Payne and James G. Payne. She is survived by children, Richard Lynn Russell, Gregory Russell (Kelly), Shari Russell Coulter (Randy), and Jonathan Russell all of Maryville; sisters, Jean Abbott (Willard), Shirley Hitch, Betty Burns (Jim), and sister –in-law, Peggy Payne of Chattanooga, and special friend Bonnie Anderson. She was loving grandmother to four and great-grandmother to eight. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, with service to be held immediately following with Rev. Carl White officiating.
