Edmund Theodore “Ted�? Klenske, 76, of Friendsville, Tennessee passed away peacefully at his home on April 6, 2011 surrounded by his family. Ted was born on April 3, 1935 and was a 1957 graduate of Western Maryland College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration. He entered the United States Army Infantry in 1958 following completion of R.O.T.C. training. He was commissioned a second lieutenant and served on active duty from 1958 through 1960. Following his military service, Ted was employed by Alcoa as a sales trainee in 1960. He retired from Alcoa in 1993 after 33 years. He then accepted a sales manager position with Pyrotek, Inc. in December 1993 and was responsible for sales and warehouse operations to the primary, secondary and foundry businesses in East Tennessee. He retired from this position in July of 2004. He has been married to the former Mary Jane Steel for 47 years and they have two children, Diana Klenske Kincaid of Atlanta, Georgia and James Scott Klenske of Farragut, Tennessee. Ted is survived by his wife, two children, daughter-in-law, Aimee Lingerfelt Klenske; two grandchildren, Kathrine and Virginia Klenske; son-in-law, James C. Kincaid, Jr.; brother, Jeff Klenske; niece, Candee Faulkner of Torrance, California; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Barbara and Fred Graves, Carolyn and John Steel, and Jane and Don Steel; many nieces, nephews and their children. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Rau Klenske and Edmund T. Klenske, Sr. of Kensington, Connecticut; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Ted Heard; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lucile and John Steel. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2011 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Dr. Dick DeMerchant officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2330 Chesterfield Drive, Maryville, TN 37803 or First Baptist Church of Lenoir City Building Fund. Family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2011 at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, Maryville, 983-1000.
