Eddie "Steve" Dixon

Eddie "Steve" Dixon, age 69, of Rockford, passed away at the family home Saturday, March 21, 2015. Steve was a devoted Christian, a 1963 graduate of Everett High School, and a member of the Tennessee Sports and Blount County Sports Hall of Fame. He was a devoted family man, a wonderful husband, father, and brother; He was truly exceptional. Preceded in death by his father, Bruce Leo Dixon; Survived by his wife, Lori Merriman Dixon; sons, Troy Allen Dixon and Steven Tyler and wife, Meredith Hatcher Dixon; mother, Mildred Walton; brother and sister-in-law, Benny and Velma Dixon; sister, Marilyn Hill; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend special thanks to cousin, Lisa Graham for her loving care. A Celebration of Steve's Life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at the Smithview Pavilion. The family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Grandview Cemetery for the Interment.
