Earl "Slim" Edwin Sims

Earl “Slim” Edwin Sims, age 74 of Maryville, passed away Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023 at Fairpark Health Care. Earl retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company with 30 years of service. He was a member of Oak View Baptist Church. He was a devoted father to his only daughter, Perrae. Preceded in death by mother, Gladys Sims; parents, Dave and Mattie Sims. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Perrae and Jacob Purkey; one and only granddaughter, Lily Purkey; mother of his child, Pamela Wilhoite; brother, Steve Sims (Marcella); nephews, Chris Sims (Erin), Chad Sims (Stephanie); and many great nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 PM Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Smith Trinity Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Oak View Baptist Church, 2704 Ellejoy Road Walland, TN 37886. The Funeral Service will follow at 6:00 PM with Rev. Scott Huffstetler officiating.
