Earl Ceford Poplin Jr. age 76 of Maryville went home to be with his Savior and his beloved wife Nina on January 15th, 2022. Preceded in death by his parents, Earl Sr. and Mildred Garner Poplin, and wife of 43 years Nina Roberts Poplin. Earl is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Janie and Terry Hudson. Son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Carol Poplin. Grandchildren Sarah Poplin; Emalee, Natalee, and Jackson Pressley. Siblings Charles (Butch) Poplin, Sandra and William (Sonny) Blevins, Rod and Peggy Poplin, Steve and Carolyn Poplin, Becca and Mark Caylor. Brother-in-law Charles (Jack) Roberts, and his best little buddy Chance. Very special friends Paul and Linda Graves, and Frank and Carol Curtis. Earl was an extremely devoted husband and father. He enjoyed fishing with Brad, and in his younger years, hunting, softball, bowling, and other sports. Earl was mechanically gifted and enjoyed spending time in his workshop fixing anything and everything for his friends and family. Earl was jovial and never met a stranger. He was always whistling, humming, singing, or telling a story. Earl was a member of the Air National guard before working 35 years for Alcoa. The family would like to thank the compassionate staff at Wahid Cancer Institute, and especially all of the hardworking, loving staff of Clover Hill Senior Living, who provided him with such great care these last several months. Friends may come by at their convenience to sign the book on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from 8am-5pm. The family and friends will then assemble for a graveside service and interment at Clarks Grove Cemetery, Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 1pm officiated by Rev. Rex Everett.
