Earl Hubbs, 85, passed from this earth into the arms of his Heavenly Father on January 1,2024, at UT hospital. Earl was a beloved husband, dad, granddaddy and great granddaddy. He was a Navy veteran and retired from ALCOA. He was married for 67 years to his late wife, Lorene, who he faithfully took care of during her final years. Earl was a proud and active Tribal Elder of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. He grew up in Louisville, TN, where he honed his fishing skills from an early age with his father and brothers. He passed that love of fishing on to his daughter who will forever be grateful for her early years on Ft Loudon Lake and Citico Creek fishing with her daddy. Known as “ Mr. Fix It" by his family, anything we needed he always eager to provide. He was so proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren and especially enjoyed spending time with them. He was preceded in death by his wife Lorene Hubbs, mother and father Rubye and Everett Hubbs, son-in-law Larry Ellis, brother Don Hubbs and Dior the Wonder Dog. He is survived by his daughter, Leigh Anne Ellis, grandchildren Josh Ellis (Brandy), Annie Large (David), great grandchildren Everett Ellis, Charlie and Janie Large, sisters Eddie Hubbs, Christine Bohanon, brother David Hubbs, sister-in-law Susie Hubbs and brother-in-law Troy White. The family would like to thank UT Neurocritical Care and UT Hospice for providing such compassionate care during his final days. The Family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM on Monday, January 13, 2025 in the Smith East Chapel with a Celebration of Earl’s life to follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Doug White officiating. The interment service and burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
