Earl Glenn "Mutt" Dickson, age 87, of Maryville, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the family home. Glenn attended Adamsville High School, The University of Memphis, and worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for 33 years. He was a veteran of WWII and Korea serving in the U.S. Army. Preceded in death by his parents, Earl Dewey Dickson and Ethel Brown Dickson; brothers, Roy M. and Charles R. Dickson; sister, Mary Lynn Dickson; and nephew, Steve Pickens. Survived by his wife of 59 years, LaVerne Powers Dickson; daughter, Debora Dickson Adams; Son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Nancy Dickson; grandson, Jason Adams and wife, Jennifer Nishida; granddaughter, Stephanie Adams; sisters and brother-in-law, Sue Pickens and Shirley and J.R. Smith; cousins, Fred Patterson, Jim Patterson, and Bill Ross; many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Glenn's Life will begin with visitation at 2:00 p.m. and the service to be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Axley United Methodist Church of Greenback, TN. Family and friends will assemble for the Interment at 4:00 pm on Sunday, July 12, 2015 in the Milledgeville Cemetery, Milledgeville, Tennessee.
