Douglas Gene Thomas

Douglas Gene Thomas age 68, went to his heavenly home on August 27, 2012. He was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. He retired from the Alcoa Fire Department in 1999 after 34 years of service. Preceded in death by: Mother, Dessie Jane Boyd Thomas; Father, Ray Norton Thomas. Survivors include: Wife of 47 years, Jean Dykes Thomas; Daughter, Connie Williams & husband Scott; Four Grandchildren he adored, Ashley Brooke Williams, Faith Olivia Williams, Jenna Shay Williams and Eli Thomas Williams; Brothers, William R. Thomas (wife Nancy) of Maryville and Kenneth D. Thomas (wife Thelma) of Friendsville; Sisters-in-law, Margaret Dykes Kemp (husband John) of Marietta, GA and Donna Dykes Baldwin (husband Harold) of Woodstock, GA; several nieces, nephews, and special friends. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Raymond Burnett officiating. Interment will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Grandview Cemetery. Alcoa Fire Department will be Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers will be firefighters and retired firefighters.
