Douglas Boyd Livesay age 75 of Maryville, passed away Friday, February 27, 2009 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was born February 7, 1934 in Sneedville, TN. He graduated from Hancock County High School in 1952. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he completed a tour in Korea. He graduated from East Tennessee State University in 1960 with a BS Degree and transferred from the AF Reserves to the Air National Guard. He received a Commercial/Instrument Pilot's rating and held the positions of Crew Chief, Instructor/Evaluator Flight Engineer with 6,000 hours flying time, Supervisor of Command and Control and Air Operations Superintendent before being named the Senior Enlisted Advisor for the Tennessee Air National Guard. He retired as a Senior Chief Master Sergeant in December 1989 after 33 � years of civil service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Prior T. "Tip" & Mary Campbell Livesay; sisters, Nell Greene and Ruth Brewer. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Faye Livesay; twin brother, Dennis Livesay; sisters, Katey Derbolt and Lois Eddleman; son, Gregory Livesay; grandsons, Garrett Livesay, Griffin Livesay and Grant Livesay. The family & friends will assemble at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 5901 Lyons View Pike, Knoxville, TN for graveside service & interment with military honors.
