Dorothy Gray Weaver age 97, died peacefully on Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville, TN. She graduated from Alcoa High School and Knoxville Business College. Mrs. Weaver spent most of her adult life in Blount County where she worked for the United States Postal Service at the Alcoa Branch. She especially enjoyed music, flowers and playing the church organ. She learned to play later in life and enjoyed providing the preludes and postludes at her church. She was preceded in death by her parents, T. C. Gray, Sr. and Jessie G. Gray, her husband Paul A. Weaver, brother, T. C. Gray, Jr, (Ruth) and sister Marguerite Badgett (James), sister in law Mary Lou Cox Weaver (Roy), nephew Joe Henry Gray, and son in law Robert C. Parrott. She is survived by her daughter, Margie Parrott, Knoxville, TN, grandson, Brian Prince (Patricia), granddaughter, Amy Prince Caponetti (James), Maryville, TN. Her family includes step-grandsons Mark Parrott, Sweetwater, TN; Todd Parrott (Lisa), Hilton Head Island, SC; Sean Parrott (Agata), Brooklyn, NY; Paul Wohlford (Ann), Panama City, FL. Three natural greats: Bo, Lisey and Marisa Caponetti; step-greats: Katilyn Parrott Johnson (Jason) and Jack Parrott; Paul IV, Alex and Bethany Wolhford; Hunter and Rachel Parrott; Emilia, Vincent and Nicholas Parrot; and Becca Wood. Nieces Glenda (Gordon) Hughes; Marti (Jeff) Yund; Katherine (Chuck) Paff; Rosemary Badgett; Carol Badgett; Nan (Jerry) Badgett; and Tom (June) Badgett. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:00 on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Smith Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 with The Reverend Robert Gieselmann officiating.
