Dorothy “Dot�? Parton age 77 of Townsend, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at St. Mary’s medical; Center. She was a member of the Church of God faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a true friend. She will be deeply loved and missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Parton; daughter, Darlene Parton; son, Lynn Parton; 3 brothers, & 3 sisters. Survivors include daughters & sons-in-law, Joyce & Phillip Patterson of Townsend, Theresa & Lewis Lynn of Rutledge; grandchildren, David, Jason, Ashley, Shonda & Lynn; 14 special great-grandchildren; brother, Tom Hurst of Harriman; sister, Rose Crawford of Solway; several special nieces & nephews. Funeral service 8:00 pm Friday, January 22, 2010, Smith Trinity Chapel with Eugene Kersey & Maynard Washam officiating. The family & friends will assemble at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Headrick’s Chapel Cemetery for the interment.
