Dorothy Bessie Cooke

Dorothy Bessie Ownby Cooke age 85 of Friendsville, slipped peacefully into her Savior’s arms, Monday, February 21, 2011 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was in a league of her own coaching church softball teams until she hung up her cleats in the seventies. She was a member of Friendsville Baptist Church. Preceded in death by: Elmer & Susie Ownby; Brothers, Herman, Elmer Jr.; Sisters, Betty, Lucille, Emma, and Marge. Survivors include: Loving Husband, O’Neil Cooke; Sons, Larry Cooke, Mr. & Mrs. Darrell & Brenda Cooke; Sister, Eileen Rogers & husband Harvey; many nieces and nephews and grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her, especially her softball teams. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Smith Trinity Chapel with funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM. with Rev. Jim Lawhorn officiating.
