Dorothy Cathey

Dot B. Cathey, "Dodie", age 85 of Colorado passed away Friday, April 18, 2014 at Shannondale of Maryville. She was a Colorado native and her family was considered "Pioneers of the West". Dot had a rewarding career with Fox Theaters. She had an infectious sense of humor. Dot loved her family, her Colorado heritage, San Francisco and had an unconditional devotion to all animals. She enjoyed playing golf, watching Dean Martin and had an abundant collection of both owls and stuffed bears. Preceded in death by: Parents, William M. and Virginia Babcock; Son, John R. Cathey; Brother, John Babcock; and Husband of 56 years, George A. Cathey, Jr. Survivors include: Daughters & Sons-in-law, Jennifer & Dennis Geary of Wasilla, AK and Jody & Sam Curtis of Madisonville, TN; Granddaughter, Jessica Curtis; Nieces and Nephews, Pam and husband Lee Heinz, Debbie & husband Selso Martinez, Cathey & husband Ted Jones, Mike & wife Janet Mitchell, Steve G. Mitchell, Donny & Michael Cathey, brother-in-law Donald Cathey. In addition, Dot leaves a very special caregiver, Ms. Georgia Richey of Shannondale. In lieu of flowers, Colorado Animal Rescue, 2801 County Road 114, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601. A private family burial will be held in Salt Lake City, UT.
