Doris Quillin Bailey

Doris Quillin Bailey, age 94, of Alcoa, TN went home to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, December 21, 2023. Born in Matoaka, West Virginia to Leland and Neva Quillin, on May 1, 1929, Doris moved to Kingsport at a young age with her family where she was raised. She moved to Alcoa with her husband, William "Bill" Bailey in 1949 where they settled down and built a wonderful life together. Doris was a devoted member of Alcoa First United Methodist Church for many years where she taught Sunday School to both children and adults. She served many roles within her church and served her community through her work with the church food pantry. In her leisure time, Doris enjoyed traveling with her family, reading, playing bridge, and watching sports, particularly her Alcoa Tornadoes football team. Doris is preceded in death by her husband, William H. Bailey (her "sweet Bill'), her sister, Margaret Ann Harding, her nephew, Tommy, and her niece, Jeanie. She is survived by her four loving daughters, Carol Weston, with husband Johnny, Linda Harig, with husband David, Sandy Stuart, and Mary Stanley, with husband Keith. She was also blessed with ten wonderful grandchildren (Brian, Rachael, Tim, Anthony, Jimmy, Elly, Scott, Brett, Allison and Amanda) and fourteen beautiful great grandchildren. At Doris' wishes, funeral services will be limited to an intimate graveside service, officiated by her grandson, Rev. James "Jimmy" Hendricks.
