Donna Faye Teffeteller, born June 26, 1953, laid down her earthly burdens to dance for her Lord late on Saturday, March 2, 2024. As she peacefully transitioned from this life to the next, she was surrounded by her loving family in her home. She is the daughter of Beecher and Mildred (Holloway) Finger. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Ivan Finger. She is survived by her loving husband, James; her daughters and their husbands, Christy and Michael Doherty and Rachel and Tyler Owens; her grandchildren Hannah Doherty, Avacyn Owens, and Lyra Owens; her Great-Grandchild, Emersyn; her siblings Jeanette Stephens, Gerry Collins, Mary Hicks, and Jeff Finger; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She loved each one of her family and friends with a true love that was fueled by the love of God.
She attended schools in Alcoa, TN, and she married her sweetheart, James Teffeteller, Jr. on September 17, 1971. In 1975, their first daughter, Christiana (Christy) was born. In 1991, at the age of 38, Donna felt the call to have another child. She quoted Psalm 113:9, “He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children.” In 1992, her daughter Rachel was born. Throughout her life, Donna was a successful hair stylist, seamstress, and caring, devoted housewife. She loved to sing and worship both in and out of church. She gained joy from serving her family and her brothers and sisters in Christ, but her heart and deepest desire was to serve the Lord. Donna set aside time each morning to pray and seek the Lord. She began each day by journaling, highlighting, and worshiping in her prayer closet. Her main goal in life was to share the love of God with those around her and lead them to Him. Donna and James created a ministry together that touched many lives over many years. Both were devoted to God’s call for their lives and led their family and friends by example. Donna’s love of people and love of the Lord will continue to resonate through her family, her children, and her children’s children.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day–and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8, NIV
