Donna Marlene Mathes

Donna Mathes, age 71 of Maryville TN, passed away peacefully, Sunday February 11, 2024 surrounded by family and friends. Donna was a member of the Maryville Seventh-day Adventist. She served in the US Air Force and later retired from the US Postal Service after 30 years. She was an avid supporter of the Blount County Veterans affairs Office. She was an active member of Ladies Auxiliary, Disabled American Veterans Organization, VFW post 5154, and American Legion post 13, where she held such positions as vice-president, secretary and treasurer. She loved to dance and listen to music.  She enjoyed time with her family especially Easter, when she dressed as the bunny rabbit. She also loved Halloween and Christmas.  She is preceded in death by: mother, Hazel Ogle; father, James Mathes; siblings, Vivian Blair, George Mathes, and JD Mathes. Survivors include:  siblings, Grace Stephens, Fleeta Mathes, and Mayford Mathes; children, Christina Mathes and Crystal Mathes; grandchildren, Belinda Mathes, Michael Russell II, Samantha Crawford, Makayla Suttles, and Brittany Cook. She was an integral part of her eight great grandchildren lives. She was also loved by her four step grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
