Don Lee Bennett, Sr.

Don L. Bennett, Sr. age 68 of Maryville kept his appointment with his Heavenly Father on Monday, March 29, 2010 at the family home. He was a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church where he was a greeter, and loved his Sunday School Class. Don also loved to volunteer for mission work. He was the retired owner and operator of Don Bennett Roofing Company, and was an avid golfer. Preceded in death by parents, Orban and Ruby Bennett; brother, Gene Bennett; sister, Brenda Vineyard; brother-in-law, James Daugherty. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Hazel Bennett; son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Lisa Bennett of Maryville; son, Brian Bennett and fiancé, Amy Moniz of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Gary Dukes of Maryville; grandchildren, Amanda Bennett and fiancé, Chris Bayless and Amy Dukes; soon to be grandchildren, MacKenzie Moniz and Nicholas Baker; special great niece, Ashley Thomas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clayton and Ann Bennett of Maryville, Robert “Lefty�? Bennett of Knoxville, David and Vickie Bennett of Maryville, Carl and Peggy Bennett of Louisville; sisters, Freda Condry of Maryville and Henrietta Daugherty and fiancé, Calvin Patton of Friendsville; sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Joe Reagan of Maryville; mother-in-law, Christina Riffey; several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law. Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Madison Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. Glenn Cummings officiating. In memory of Don, please wear your favorite golf shirt to the service. Family and friends will assemble at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Grandview Mausoleum for the entombment.
