Dolores M. Cunningham

Dolores Cunningham, 98, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at her home. She helped lay the groundwork for Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, the first Catholic Church in Maryville-Alcoa area where she remained a devoted life-long member. She was also one of the “Oak Ridge Gals” during the war effort and met her husband, W.B. (B) Cunningham while they both worked there. She worked for many years as the secretary of out Lady of Fatima Catholic School, and for 35 years as a treasured bookkeeper for Garry L. Godfrey, CPA up until her stroke in November 2019. She is preceded in death by her husband, W.B. Cunningham; her parents, Anton and Mayme Wasatko; and grandson, Cayden Cunningham. Survivors to treasure her memory are children, Dee Ann Mendel (Isaac), Linda Reed (Darryl), Barbara Godfrey (Garry), and David Cunningham (Melissa); grandchildren, Reid Sisak, Neil Sisak, Eric Sisak (Shanna), Lisa Russell (Jon), Jason Boyd (Kelly), Josh Boyd (Jama), Emily Godfrey Tanner (fiancé, Woody Jones), Chloe Cunningham, Cooper Cunningham, Katherine Reed Strobel (Josh), Tres Palmer (Madison), Trysten Palmer (Darma); great-grandchildren, Haydn Tanner, Hadly Tanner, Henry Tanner, Hildy Tanner, Ty Boyd, Allie Boyd, Ellen Sisak, Colin Sisak, Jake Sisak, Luke Sisak, and Lennyx Mae Palmer; special family friend, Marsha Moore. The family requests no flowers or food, but contributions can be made to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church or PPAW Spay and Neuter Clinic, P.O. Box 68, Greenback, TN 37742. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 3:00 PM for Graveside Service and Interment at Grandview Cemetery, with a celebratory Mass due to be announced at-a-later date.
