Diane Glass Hutton

Diane Glass Hutton, a longtime Blount County resident, died Monday, September 8, 2008 at the UT Medical Center in Knoxville after suffering a devastating stroke the previous day. She was a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a Bachelor of Science degree. Diane was a cytologist at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, TN for 25 years before her recent retirement. Her interests included: her extended family, world travel, music, botany, and, especially, literature. She was a member of Church Street Methodist Church, Knoxville, TN and sang in the choir for many years. Diane was preceded in death by her father, John Arnold Glass. She is survived by her husband, Philip Hutton, of Louisville, TN; son, John William Hutton and his wife Whitney Propst Hutton of Memphis, TN; son, James Louis Hutton of Knoxville, TN; son, Charles Edward Hutton of Atlanta, GA; mother, Joy Lucille Field Glass of Houston, TX; and, sister, Nancy Lee Glass, her husband, John Belmont, and their daughter, Andrea Belmont, all of Houston, TX. She is also survived by nieces and nephews: Rebekah, Susanna, Naomi, Carla, Zoe, Robert, Jacob, and Zachary. All who knew her will miss her bright smile and loving disposition. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 P.M., Friday, September 12th at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service in Maryville, TN. A brief memorial service will be led by Reverend Cabel Trent, starting at 6:00 P.M.
