Dewey W. Phillips

Phillips, Dewey W. age 78 of Maryville passed away Sunday, October 1, 2006 at Baptist Hospital. He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Maryville Lions Club from 1982 until 2006; District Governor of Tennessee Lions Clubs in 1990-1992; Council Chairman from 1991-1992; Tennessee Lion of the Decade in 1993-1994. He was awarded the Melvin Jones Award for Humanitarian work. He retired with 30 plus years of service from Deere and Company in Memphis. Preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Margie Phillips; brother, David Phillips all of Shelbyville. Survivors include wife of 56 years, Frances Phillips; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Debbie Phillips of Maryville; daughter, Dawn Graves of Ballwin, Missouri; grandchildren, Amber and Shelby Phillips, Phillip and Linda Graves; brothers, Harry Phillips and Kenneth Phillips both of Shelbyville, TN, and Jesse Phillips of Alpharetta, Georgia. Funeral Service will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at Smith Mortuary with Dr. Jerry Russell officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
