Denton Blakeslee Ferrell

Dr. Denton B. Ferrell, M.D., age 95, of Maryville, TN, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024 at Shannondale of Maryville.  Denton was born on August 14, 1928 in Woodlawn, CA to Dent and Mariam Ferrell. He spent his early childhood in Marion, IL and St. Petersburg, FL and most of his adulthood in Eldorado, IL.  He was a veteran of the US Army in the field of Cryptographic Maintenance and was stationed in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1944-1945.  Denton practiced family medicine for 29 years in Eldorado, IL at the Ferrell Hospital.  He was Past President of the Eldorado Rotary Club, Saline-Pope-Hardin County Medical Society, and Banterra Corp. He also served as Director of Ferrell Hospital, Norris City State Bank, Banterra Bank, Banterra Bank of West Frankfort, Banterra Bank of Marion.
