Dennis Lee Murray

Dennis Lee Murray, on April 2, 2015 Heaven received an angel after fighting a battle with cancer at the age of 52. Dennis was best known for his love for his friends and family and his special companion, his dog "Patches". His passion was working on cars and racing, he also enjoyed his time at the lake. He will be missed by so many. He went to be with his Heavenly Father and his loving grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Davis, his father, Alvin Murray, and his brothers, Alvin and Billy Joe Murray; he was survived by his wife, Vikki Burns Murray; son, Anthony Simerly and Heather Bishop; daughter, Ashley Simerly and Blake Tucker; grandkids, Bane and Ashton; mother, Bonnie Murray; sister, Judy Newman; loving aunt, Willie Caldwell; nephew, Chris Newman and spouse, Amanda; niece, Alyssa Newman; and nephew, Brian Newman; A special thank you to all the nurses and staff on the 5th floor oncology at Blount Memorial Hospital, Thompson oncology office, and infusion center. A Celebration of Dennis's Life will be held on Monday, April 6, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Robert Burns officiating. Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Funeral Home to aid the family with expenses.
