Dennis Franklin Lewis, 60, of Maryville, passed away at home March 18, 2013. He was born July 29, 1952 in Knoxville to parents Drewey and Juanita Lewis. He loved his family, and was especially proud of his only son Kevin, and grandson Hunter. He was a Christian and spoke of God and his beliefs that there would someday be a peaceful home for him in heaven. He volunteered for the military service at a very young age, where he served in Germany, Italy, and Korea with the US Army. He was retired from Alcoa where he was employed for twenty-two years. He was an avid Harley Davidson rider in his younger days, a race car fan, and was a bit of a horse whisperer in his own right. He trained his own horse Frankie from a colt, and many others. He loved and had dogs nearly all his life, and was also a watch dog trainer. He loved his friends, and was always pleased when able to lend a helping hand. Preceded in death by parents, Drewey and Juanita Lewis of Knoxville, and nephew Ricky Bunch of Knoxville. Survived by son Kevin Lewis and grandson Hunter Lewis of Walland, sister Peggy Bunch of Townsend, and sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Jim Britt of Knoxville, nephew Gregory Bunch and wife Melinda of Knoxville, nephew Jeffery Bunch and wife Penny of Pennsylvania, grand niece Emily Bunch of Knoxville, step-grand niece Brittany Nabors of Florida, step-niece Kristen and husband Tim O'Brien and their children Britt and Grace of Kentucky, and step-nephew Brian Britt and his daughter Maggie of Alabama, and several other aunts, uncles, and cousins. He leaves behind a very special friend, Joanna McCutcheon, and many other friends. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. with a celebration of Dennis's life to be held at 1:00 p.m. with Rev.
