Delores June Finchum

Delores June Finchum age 77 died peacefully in her sleep on October 13th after experiencing steadily declining health since the Spring. June was a devoted mother and wife for 59 years. She was a member of Armona Baptist Church and retired from the University of Tennessee Agricultural Campus after many years of service. She enjoyed a life long love of community service through her church and music. She devoted herself to partnering with her husband in their love of horse breeding and training for many years. Preceded in death by: Son, David Lawrence Finchum; Parents Ruth and Bernerd Scott; Grandparents Creed and Mable Samples; Siblings, Karen Rogers and Ed Scott. Survivors include: Husband J.L Finchum; Daughter & Son-in-law, Sam and Dr. Angela F. Wood, of Louisville; Daughter and Son-in-law, Jama and Cephus Stinnett of Louisville; Grandchildren, Jennifer Johnson, Samuel Wood, Jessee Stinnett, and Elizabeth Finchum; Great-Grandson, Mason Johnson. Brother and Sister-in-Law, Jim and Mary Scott of Louisville. Celebration of her life will be at 8:00 PM, Friday, October 17, 2014 at Smith Chapel. Interment will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Alcoa, Tennessee.
