Delbert Bivens

Delbert Bivens age 83 of Louisville passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He retired from Martin Marietta K-25 in October 1994. Delbert was in the Civil Air Patrol for many years and was a volunteer for the Empty Pantry Fund. Preceded in death by: Parents, Hamp & Oda Bivens; Brothers, Hubert & Lester Bivens. Survivors include: Wife of 58 years, Doris Bivens; Daughter, Kathy Bivens of Maryville; Son & Daughter-in-law, Mike & Janet Bivens of Knoxville; Grandchildren, Jillian & Benjamin Bivens; Siblings, Dixie Matthews of Knoxville, Grady & Wife Shirley Bivens of Maryville, and Bertha Ownsby of Maryville; six nephews and five nieces; several great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Blount Memorial Hospital especially 5 East and CCU. Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 PM, Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will be at 6:00 pm with Rev. Bruce Marston and Rev. Greg Long officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 3:00 PM, Monday, August 11, 2014 at Grandview Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Page officiating.
