He was the former Owner & Operator of Ray's Garbage Service in Maryville for 30 years. Survivors include his wife, Linda Vaughn; daughters, Belinda Tipton, Hollie Grimes, and Pamela Teele; step-sons David Caldwell and Johnny McCarter; grandchildren, Christopher Grimes, Devon Grimes, Logan Grimes, Jassmine Grimes, Samantha Teele, Patricia Teele, Mikey Caldwell, Whitney Caldwell, and Nathan Buchanan; brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Wilma Vaughn; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Mayford.
