David Edward Ford

May 10, 1943 — August 31, 2006

Ford, David Edward age 63 of Maryville passed away Thursday, August 31, 2006 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. He was a Retired Master Chief from the United States Navy. After retirement from the military, he was employed by Charleston Naval Shipyard, Sevier County Bonding Co., and River Plantation RV Park. Since retirement, David and Billie spent the last eight years traveling throughout the United States. They loved spending the winter months in Key West, FL with their friends and periodic visits from their family. He loved seeing his country and appreciated it. Preceded in death by: Parents, Elmer Parker & Elvie Hensley Ford; Sisters, Alma Ruth West and Jana "Cathy" Shamblin. Survivors include: Wife, Billie Ford; Sons & Daughters-in-law, Joel Steven & Ronda Ford of Seymour, Tony Colin & Linda Ford of Virginia Beach, VA, and David Wayne & Nancy Ford of Maryville; Four Grandchildren, Bo, Ben and Dusty Ford and Darcy Fandinga; Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Joe & Elsie Ford of Dallas, OR, Steve & Gail Ford of Maryville, and Brent & Libby Waters of Maryville; Sister, Margaret Moore and family of Maryville. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 3, 2006 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary. Memorial donations may be made to: Naval Marine Corps Relief Society, 7928 14th Street, Suite 238, Norfolk, VA 23505. Interment will following at Grandview Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Saturday, September 2, 2006, Trinity Chapel, Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 865-983-1000.
