David Howard Baxter, age 63, of Evergreen Farms, Greenback, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was the son of the late Beverly and Frank Howard Baxter. He graduated from Connellsville PA, High School in 1967. A Veteran of the United States Navy Submarine Service, David served aboard the USS James K. Polk and USS Stonewall Jackson during the Vietnam era to 1977. He was an Electronics Technician at National Semiconductor and Branson UltraSonics in Danbury, CT for many years. Currently employed at Protean Instrument in Lenoir City. Before moving to Tennessee, the Baxters resided in Candlewood Shores, Brookfield, Conn. Survived by his wife of 24 years, Caroline Martin (Forbes) Baxter; sister, Cynthia Baxter of Westminster, MD; brother, Zane Baxter (Gillian) of Mt. Juliet, TN; step-son, Bruce Forbes (Tammy) of Simpsonville, SC; step-daughters, Laura Rosa (Michael) of Hampton, NH; Marjorie Crosley (Joel) of Trumbull, CT; Diana Arcadipane (Alan) of Groveland, MA; 9 grandchildren: Skylar, Chase, and Isabella Rosa; Caroline, Amelia, Rebecca, and Harrison Crosley; Andrew and Nicholas Arcadipane; brothers-in-law, James Martin (Betty) and Robert Martin (Janice) of Tellico Village, Loudon, TN. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 29, 2012 in the Chapel at Fairview United Methodist Church with Rev. Gilbert Harris officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to Fairview UMC, Music Ministry or The Thompson Cancer Survival Center at Blount Memorial Hospital.
