June 11, 1928 — June 9, 2014

Rev. David Arwood Jr., 85, passed away at Blount Memorial Hospital on June 9, 2014 following an extended illness. He was proceeded in death by: parents Dave and Sarah Arwood, son Rodger Dale Arwood, Brothers- Clarence, Dubb, Ernie, Melvin, Condas and infant brother. Sisters- Cora Vaughn, Irene Murrell, Jackie Murrell, Hazel Teffeteller, Cassie Lou Latham. Lots of special nieces and nephews. Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years Betty Arwood, Daughters and son-in laws Dreva and Kenneth McKee, Barbara and Robert Christiano. Grandchildren Tanya and Eddie McClanahan, Randy and Penny McKee, David and Kathryn Loy, Missy and Jeff Kauffman, Bobby Loy, Doug McKee. Great Grandchildren Matthew and Savannah McKee, Amanda and Travis Cotton, Micah Dukes, Amy Bundy, Hannah and Chris Sabo, Elly Loy, Kayla McKee, Thomas Loy, Austin McKee, Grady Loy, D.J. McKee. Great- Great Grandchildren Owen Sabo, Macie Lee Cotton. Beloved pet dog Chrissy. David was a Baptist preacher who started pastoring in 1959 serving a total of 18 churches. He was currently a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. David was also a 33 degree Mason in the Scottish Rites. Many thanks to all extended family, friends and medical staff for prayers, support and comfort during David's illness. A Celebration of David's life will held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2014 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Charles Roy Murrell officiating. Interment will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Clarks Grove Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Tennessee Inc., 5801 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919.
