Daniel N. Williams, Jr.

November 25, 1935 — January 11, 2010

Daniel Nicholas Williams Jr. age 74 of Maryville, leaned into the arms of his Lord and went home on Monday, January 11, 2010. Dan was a loving husband and father. He lived life to the full as a Pastor, Chaplain, Teacher, Coach, Mentor and Businessman. He invested in the lives of others in each of these roles. He always said that he would rather “see a sermon than hear one.�? His life was a beautifully real sermon to those who knew him well. In all things he put his God first, whether times were good or difficult. We are sad the sermon has come to a close, but we rejoice that he is home and has heard “well done good and faithful servant.�? His life was a blessing and encouragement to so many family and friends. He lived out his faith by going on short term mission trips, serving on jail ministry teams and serving on the Blount County Young Life committee for 17 years. Preceded in death by: his parents Daniel N. Williams and Anna Gerringer Williams. He was loved and adored by his bride of 48 years, Ginger Davey Williams, his daughter Darla Williams Pedersen (Jens), and his son Danny (Shelly), and his four grandchildren, Lydia Pederson, Mallory Pedersen, Cole Williams and Kate Williams. He is also survived by his brother George Williams, his sisters Ellen Williams Blocher and Alice Williams Reinecker. Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Tim Teague officiating. Entombment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. In addition to flowers, donations may also be made in memory of Dan Williams to Blount County Young Life (977-9109).
