Daniel Francis Lovett

Daniel Francis Lovett, age 85 of Maryville, passed away Thursday September 13, 2007. He was a wonderful father, brother, grandfather, and a good friend to all who knew him. Born in Johnston, Rhode Island, he was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Mary Lovett, his wife, Doris Lovett, his brothers and sisters in laws, Raymond and Agnes Lovett, Gerald and Katherine Frances Lovett, and brother in law, Bill Fairbanks. Dan served in the US Navy during World War II as a Signalman first class stationed in North Africa. He was later assigned to the USS Biddle where he served until the end of the war. He was the manager of Copeland Pipe & Supply and purchasing agent of Familian Plumbing. He lived in both Florida and California before he retired to Turtle Creek Farm in Maryville in 1989, where he raised miniature donkeys, horses, & cattle. He enjoyed hiking, gardening, biking and sports. Dan was a founding member of the Rusty Zipper Club of Maryville & long time member of Blount Memorial Hospital's Wellness Center. He is survived by: Daughter & Son in law: Dawn & George DeBaby of Maryville, Son & Daughter in law: Daniel & Vita Lovett of Maryville, Son & Daughter in law: Dean & Kathi Lovett of Denver, CO, Sister & Brother in law: Mary & Andy Izzo of Hialeah, FL, Sister: Alice Fairbanks of Melbourne Beach, FL; Grandchildren: Daniel Lovett, IV of Miami, FL, Cristy DeBaby of Maryville, Jamey & Matt Hearon of Maryville, Aaron Lovett of Denver, CO. Additional Family & friends: Don & Shelly Welsh, Doug & Pauline Welsh, Fred Manning, Jim & Stella DeBaby, Don, Nance, & Brian Dunlap, as well as other extended family members, close friends, & neighbors. Memorial Service will be at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 3504 Laws Chapel Road, Maryville TN 37803, on Saturday, September 22, 2007. Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00. Service will begin at 11:00 with friend Rev. Carl White officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Hillcrest Baptist Church.
