Cynthia Dawn Goodman age 53 of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Madison Avenue Baptist church. She was born at 2:00 AM on a snowy Christmas morning in 1962 and was first presented to the world snuggled in a red flannel Christmas stocking. She was a loving wife and teacher at Rockford Elementary School to special needs pre-school for 32 years. She was Blount County Teacher of the Year in 2000 and 2014. She was loved for much more than these things to anyone who knew her. She loved traveling, mission work, church participation and adored many of her co-workers and assistants. She was preceded in death by: Father, Lowell Bell. Survivors include: Husband, Terry Goodman; Parents, Liz & John Henry; Brother & Sister-in-law, Curtis & Vonda Bell; Step Sister and Brother-in-law, Sandra & Steve Ownby; Brother & Sister-in-law, Marty & Pam Goodman; Stepson and Daughter-in-law, Justin & Jerel Moore; Grandson, Kasen; several loved nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00, Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Madison Avenue Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 6:00 PM with Rev. Glenn Cummings officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 AM, Monday, November 7, 2016 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment.
