Curtisteen “Curt�? Whitehead Compton of Walland passed away Thursday, January 21, 2010 at her home. She was a member of Keebles Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Preceded in death by: Husband, Sam J. Compton; Parents, W.H. & Cora Blanche Whitehead; Son, Steve Compton; Grandson, Shawn Everett; Brothers & Sisters-in-law, Harold & Daisy Whitehead and Earl & Shirley Whitehead; Sisters & Brothers-in-law, Louise & Sam Franklin and Gladys & Olin Davis; Twin Sister, Earnestine Whitehead. Survivors include: Son, David Compton; Daughter & Son-in-law, Sharon & Robbie Everett of Walland; Daughter-in-law, Denise Compton; Grandchildren, Lee & Mindi Everett, Shelley & Josh Thomas, Cora & Chris Bailey, Sam Compton, Jodi & Tommy Hembree, Caleb & Emily Compton; Great-Grandchildren, Syll Everett & Tripp Everett, Asa Thomas & Avery Jo Thomas, and Jadyn Hembree; Brother & Sister-in-law, Doyle & Mable Whitehead; Sister & Brother-in-law, Selva Lou & Virgil Dunlap; Sister, Elvira Wilson. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Smith West Chapel with Rev. Tim Martin officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Grandview Mausoleum Chapel for the entombment.
