Curtis E. Barbre

Curtis E. Barbre age 82 of Maryville, formerly of Morristown, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 11, 2008. He was a former member of First Baptist Church Morristown, current member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church, member of J. Burgin Sunday School Class, served as a greeter and usher, Veteran of US Army serving in Korean War, avid sports fan attending numerous events especially those of his grandson Ryan and granddaughter, Rebekah. Preceded in death by: Wife of 45 years, Martha Ann Barbre; Daughter, Rebecca Ann Barbre; Parents, W.T. & Dora Barbre; Sister, Catherine Purkey; Brother, Winfred Barbre. Survivors include: Daughters & Sons-in-law, Betsy & Doug James and Suzanne & Scott Singleton all of Maryville; Special Grandchildren, Ryan Singleton and Rebekah Singleton both of Maryville; Several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the medical staff at Medical Critical Care at UT, Select Specialty at Ft. Sanders, Hillcrest North Respiratory Support Services. Funeral service will be at 4:00 PM, Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Charlie McNutt and nephew, Jay Baumgardner officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 15, 2008 at Roseberry Baptist Church Cemetery in Mascot, TN for the interment with military honors. Pallbearers will be: Scott Elrod, Frankie Turner, D.J. Porter, Jay Baumgardner, Steve Bledsoe, and Sammy Moore.
