Connie Murphy passed away on March 21, 2024, leaving behind a family so fortunate to have felt her love every day. Connie was her family’s light - she lived to love and was fiercely loved in return. Through immense grief, we take comfort in a single truth: all she ever wanted was for us to be happy. We celebrate Connie today and every day in the future. Her kind, selfless, and gentle soul; her humor, warmth, and strength. Connie made life fun. We are blessed to have known her and receive her unconditional affection, optimism, and guidance. Connie’s husband of 46 years drew tremendous strength from her constant support. Every obstacle was surmountable, then a funny story to laugh over. The impossible became doable – one step, together, at a time. Connie’s life was full; her friendships multi-decades long. Girls weekends, football tailgates, birthday parties, weddings, family vacations, barbeques – Connie was the party planner, organizer, and incredible chef; happiest when we were all together and her nest was full. Above all, Connie’s true calling was being a Mom. No one on this planet is luckier than the son and two daughters she supported in every conceivable way. An encouraging word or heart-felt hug made them invincible. Her quick smile and laugh made them happy. Her presence made them feel safe. Those three children are all married now, and their spouses know they are loved, protected, and looked over by the brightest light. Every woman dreams of being " Grandma," and Connie was no exception. She was blessed with four grandchildren, who she loved, spoiled, laughed with, and hugged, until they could hardly take any more. Connie leaves behind her husband Tom, son Sean and his wife Brittany, daughter Alyson and her husband Jeff, and daughter Dana and her husband Dan. Grandsons Kelan, Kieran, Grayson and Xavier will hear constant stories and memories of her everlasting love. Sister Diane and brother Ed will fill in the blanks of her childhood antics. Connie is deeply missed, forever watching over her family, and always on our minds and in our hearts. There will be a church service on April 27th, 2024 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church in Townsend, TN. A Celebration of Life will follow from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at 346 Fox Hollow Rd., Townsend, TN 37882. Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, 865-983-1000, www.smithlifeandlegacy.com
