Conard LaFayette Hill age 93 of Maryville passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the family home. He attended Lone Oak Church for 50 years. Conard was a faithful worker and member of Grey Ridge Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. Conard worked for White Star Lines and retired from Tennessee Trailways. He was awarded a certificate for driving one million miles without an accident. Preceded in death by: Parents, Edgebert & Zola Hill; son, Jerry Lynn Hill; Four brothers; Four sisters; Great-Grandson, Tanner Jameson. Survivors include: Wife of 70 years, Imogene Ruth Hill; Daughters & Sons-in-law, Sarah L. & Joe Tipton of Maryville, Janice K. & David Houser of Knoxville, and Becky A. & Larry Hayes of Maryville; Sons & Daughters-in-law, Connie G. & Charlotte Hill of Maryville and Ricky Hill of Knoxville; 15 Grandchildren; 30 Great-Grandchildren; 10 Great-Great-Grandchildren; Sister, Nadean Howard of Loudon; Brothers-in-law, W.C. Simonds of Knoxville and Bill Bivens of Kentucky. Funeral service will be at 7:30 PM, Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Pastor Delbert Raines, Pastor Quinten Caldwell, and Pastor Curt Jones officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Grandview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to: Foothills Alzheimer’s Association, 260 1st Av NW, Suite 218, Hickory, NC 28601.
