Clyde "Tiger" Tidwell age 88 of Alcoa passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a christian, a member of Turner Street Baptist Church, and a 50-plus-year Mason. Clyde retired from Alcoa on May 16, 2007 after 66 years of service. He was a World War II Veteran in the 82nd Airborne in France. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Preceded in death by: Wife, Floy Elizabeth Cox Tidwell; Parents, Henry & Laura Tidwell; Twin Brother, Clarence Tidwell; Sister, Thelma Lawson both of Lake City. Survivors include: Son & Daughter-in-law, Gene & Rebekah Tidwell of Chattanooga, TN; Daughter & Son-in-law, Judy Lynn & Jim Carter of Knoxville, TN; Grandchildren, Jimmy Carter & wife Kristi, Cheri Green & husband Todd, Scott Tidwell & wife Christy; Great-Grandchildren, Rebekah Green and Gavin Carter. Special thanks to his loving care givers: Brenda, Ora Lee, Helen, Jane, Katie, Angela, and Kristin. Funeral service will be at 8:00 PM, Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Smith East Chapel with Rev. Timothy Townsend officiating. Interment will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, February 27, 2009 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
